And we’re still going strong. Setting a nice steady pace has helped out a lot and has me in a nice rhythm.

Since mystory involves 4 main characters, my biggest challenge right now is giving them all a unique voice, as well as keeping their relationships and feelings about each other clear.

I’ve also tried to keep the beginning moving and keep exposition and backstory to a minimum. There will be plenty of room for that to come out as the story progresses.

I read this in my daily “Writer’s Almanac with Garrison Keillor” email (I myself am not a writer, just a reader) and the 1000 words a day part reminded me of you!

It’s the birthday of the longest-running newspaper columnist in American history, Herb Caen, (books by this author) born in Sacramento, California (1916). He wrote primarily for the San Francisco Chronicle, publishing 1,000 words a day, six days a week, for almost 60 years. He only took a break to serve in World War II.
